This Friday, There’s a new kid in town. But not just any kid, the coolest kid you’ll ever meet. By kid, I am referring to the new “store” in the West Bottoms. Urban Provisions General Store – is a mix of urban chic and utilitarian products from an eclectic blend of lifestyle, well-groomed home and couture food items.
Displayed are just a sneak peek at the amazing items you will find at the store.
This ingenious item created from Co-Owner Britton’s Aunt. His aunt is a natural “maker” and created this items made of recycled burlap. The poof cube has multiple uses such as a seat, ottoman, side table and more.

What inspired you to start Urban Provision General Store?
“Going back about four years ago, I heard a quote that said “If every consumer spent a small percentage of their shopping dollars on American-made goods. It would improve the economy significantly” Co-Owner Savannah Northcraft says. “I can recall when the economy crashed, my husband got laid off and my friends were taking under paid jobs to pay off their student loans. Through that I discovered; we can really help the economy if we just buy American made thus keeping our dollars here.”

Mrs. North craft said; she wanted a store that would showcase the under-represented brands that you can’t find anywhere else. Eventually the store will plan to rotate through local brands in Kansas City. The store has found forty – fifty percent of their products through Instagram. And the store is huge on supporting “makers” of products like The Maker Village KC or Burgundy Circus Hard Goods.
Move over krypton, This gorgeous coaster are sure to be a conversation starter. Some say they are so beautiful, You wont let company use them. – Back to using cork coasters it is.

The general store will be unlike anything Kansas City has ever seen. The products not only have usability, but will become a showcase piece in your home. Some items are so striking; you will only want to use them for special occasions as your grandmother would say. Whatever your cup of tea is, The Urban Provisions General Store has it. The store is set to open on Friday 8/29/14; their hours are Tuesday- Saturday from 11:00a.m.-7:00p.m.
