Restaurant Review Q39

I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend. My family and I decided to change up our normal Memorial Day tradition of barbecue at the house. In exchange, We decided to put down our tongs and let others do the cooking. It was my bother-in-law who selected the restaurant for the family to visit, Q39 was the restaurant he suggested. I was so excited for this restaurant review.

Q39 is considered to be a hybrid of a BBQ restaurant and a open wood fire grilling. The restaurant is rustic and industrial in style, this is definitely not your normal barbecue joint. I found it very refreshing that Q39 does not only serves barbecue, but you can order a club sandwich or lighter fare as well. This is both unique and refreshing for a barbecue restaurant, The options will appease some of the pickiest eaters.

Let’s dive right into the food shall we?

I ordered the combo plate ($11.00), I selected the prize winning sausage and brisket with baked beans for my sides. The sausage was beyond delicious and bursting with amazing flavor. The brisket was smoked perfectly and melts in your mouth. Now, I will tell you the truth my all time favorite barbecue baked beans are from Jack Staq BBQ. But Q39 is officially second! Sorry, But I’m not quite ready to give up the throne of baked beans just yet.

My husband ordered the judges plate ($16.00) which included three meats and one side. I managed to pry one of the ribs off his plate and it was fall off the bone tender. My husband is a barbecue lover and can decipher good from great que with one bite. He verdict – He loved it!

My verdict: The atmosphere is eclectic, industrial and rustic with a open wood fire grill. The perfect place for a date night, girls night out, or after work happy hour meet-up. The food: Amazing!! I will definitely return to Q39. My only gripe is for a barbecue restaurant I thought the serving size was small. My husband and I both received two slices of brisket *two slices*. If you are looking for a place to experience new barbecue, I recommend Q39. But, if you are expecting to leave full with your pants unbutton – than this is not the place for you.

Have a barbecue restaurant you believe is blog worthy? Leave me a comment and I will check it out.

I’ve been wanting to try this place, so I’m glad you reviewed it! Sounds like the barbecue was good, but not to go if we’re super hungry:) Now Oklahoma Joe’s is another story, because we always leave there so full. Hope you’re having a great week!
