Kansas City Fashion Week 2014

I love fashion. So when I received an opportunity to attend this year’s Kansas City Fashion Week as Media again, I was elated. I’ve attended Kansas City Fashion Week for three years now. Every year’s fashion show season brings its own excitement and creativity. But this year’s show was by far the best show that I’ve attended.

LOD Designs started the show off with some calypso/Caribbean flavor, by having a performance open the show. (See video on my Instagram page)

LOD Designs reflected a jungle/tribal theme with bright and vibrant colors, my favorite from the line was a gorgeous two piece number. The top is a jungle/tribal theme which exuded greens, browns, and yellows. The print was amazing with a draped open back; the pants appeared to be chino’s in a vibrant yellow color.

Oblivion Clothing Designs reflected a gothic/victorian chic theme with lots of sequins and pastels. My favorite from the line was a cream mini dress with copper, purple, and gold beading/sequined peacock design. The long sheer overlay gave the dress a whimsical feel. The corset back of the dress continued the beading/sequined peacock design with a sheer train.

Elle Inspired reflected a modern meets retro betty theme. My favorite from this line was champagne colored dress with a black leather flag collar and piped detail. The details continued to the back of the dress into a sailor collar.

Sarah Kars Designs reflected a mix between The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones theme. My favorite from this line gorgeous burgundy leather and fur bottom jacket, the jacket was everything!

My outfit for the daytime show was all about chic comfort. I paired a tunic with a faux leather detail and a fitted bottom. My daughter told me, “Mom, You are wearing your super hero pants!” I loved my matrix inspired faux leather and knit pants, my outfit was a grand total of $15. #winning

My outfit to the evening show was all about chic comfort as well. I thought about going over the top glam goddess. But that’s not me. Again, I paired faux leather front/knit back pants, with a sheer sleeve/back and black crochet top with a black pointed heel with ankle strap. My favorite was my arm candy.

My favorite was an ikat patterned floor length dress with a skinny straps, a plunging collared neckline with buttons. The back of the dress was presented with a delicate touch of navy sheer.

Lastly, LKathleen Designs line was fashion forward with an everyday eclectic cool feel. The marble black and white mix two pieced suit is a something I can picture every woman wearing, it’s contemporary yet classic with a flattering fit.
