I was invited to Eastern Jackson County’s Premier sales event “Pitch-On”. The event hosted twenty start-up retail businesses across Eastern Jackson County will be given the opportunity to showcase their business to a diverse audience including mentors, investors, and members of the general public yesterday.
GrowBlueSprings and BoostLeesSummit are working in collaboration with the cities of Grain Valley, Oak Grove, and Independence to host a regional retail “PitchOn!” event. The event was designed to engage local retail entrepreneurs in the Eastern Jackson County area with members of the community to help them grow their business. From 3-5pm each retail business will give a brief presentation describing their business to twenty local judges event sponsors. The top three retail businesses that generate the most points/sales among the judges will then move on to present their business to the general public in attendance that evening. Then, at 6 pm, the public is invited to shop with these local retailers and learn more about what resources each community has to offer to them. Retailers will provide discounts, samples, and/or door prizes.
It was a fun and engaging event. I had the chance to network with some awesome up and coming businesses that I hope to share with you’ll soon. Below you will find pictures from the event, I am looking forward to seeing the participating companies flourish.
