About Me

Welcome to Fashionplatekc!!!

My name is La’Shonda  (pronounced La-Shawn-da)

I was born, raised and currently reside in Kansas City, Mo. My husband and I met in high school; I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight. But there was definitely a spark that’s been burning like wildfire ever since. I could not image spending my life with anyone else. Being with my husband is like waking up to your best friend every day. I love that I can share my innermost thoughts, concerns, and fears with him. He always provides me with sound advice, speaks with such wisdom, provides for his family, cares for his community, and loves me more and more every day.

High School Sweetharts

Years later, My husband and I have evolve as individuals. But are very much in love with one another.

Years later……

Together, my husband and I have two beautiful girls. McKenzie (the oldest) is very sweet, overly honest, and loves being loved. I can still give her kisses before dropping her off at school and she’s not embarrassed (yet). She is currently in the third grade. Kendall (my baby girl) has no fear, is very ambitious, and has quite the appetite for life and food (she gets that from me, of course). I am so blessed to have little ones that love their mom throughout her many imperfections. But in their eyes, I am a leader, a great cook, always a cheerleader, and will defend/protect them with my life.

I love to cook. But more than that, I love to eat! My love for food started at a young age, the smell of bacon would awaken me out of my sleep coma. And I would be the first one at the table. As I grew older, I’ve become more interested in food. I consider myself a food “connoisseur”. I hope you will join me on this journey of food together.

Eating is my “peanut butter” and fashion is my “jam”!!!

Fashion has always been a part of my life. I’ve always played dress since I could pull a zipper. I started picking out my clothes from a very young age. I loved to experiment and mix styles. Fashion is fun, undefined, and can change a person’s outlook. For some time, I have been enjoying the lovely world of “Thrifting” I love going to work bragging about the latest deal I just bought for the low! With that being said, I’ve given myself a motto… I love to look “Chic on the Cheap!”

WST-TGJ just told me about your blog today. Love it! Adding it to my favorites right now. BTW-trying that oven fried chicken-looks good. Your ravioli bake is a favorite with my family. Take Care-TL3
